There are very few people who have been part of Annie Baker Photography for as long as I have, but Ana and her family are among the few. Back in 2021, Ana’s high school senior session became the very first paid session of my photography career. Before there were weddings, mini sessions, branding shoots, and hundreds of galleries delivered, there was Ana. Her family took a chance on a brand-new photographer who was still figuring everything out, and I’ll never stop being grateful for that. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of photographing so many milestones for their family, including Ana's senior picture, her sister Aiden’s quinceañera portraits and quinceañera, Aiden’s senior pictures, and now Ana’s college graduation. Being invited back time and time again is one of the greatest compliments I can receive as a photographer. It has been such a blessing to watch this family grow while Annie Baker Photography has grown right alongside them.

For her graduation session, we explored both CU Boulder and Chautauqua Park to celebrate the chapter of life she is closing and the one she’s about to begin. Between the iconic campus buildings and the beautiful Flatirons in the background, it felt like the perfect way to document such a huge accomplishment.
Ana shared that the last four years of college helped her learn who she is, and I think that’s what made this session feel so special. It wasn’t just about celebrating a degree; it was about celebrating growth, perseverance, and everything she’s accomplished along the way. College has a way of shaping people, and it was clear throughout our time together that Ana has worked incredibly hard to reach this milestone.

What makes this moment even more meaningful to me is the timing. As I write this, Annie Baker Photography is approaching its fifth anniversary. To photograph the same client for both their high school and college graduations before reaching five years in business feels like coming full circle. Moments like this remind me why I fell in love with photography in the first place. Getting to preserve memories is special, but getting to walk alongside families through multiple seasons of life is something I’ll never take for granted.
Ana, congratulations on graduating from CU Boulder! Thank you for trusting me with your memories throughout the years and allowing me to be part of so many important moments. Watching your journey unfold has been such an honor, and I can’t wait to see where life takes you next. No matter what comes after graduation, I know you’re going to do amazing things.
