Some sessions are beautiful, some are fun, and then there are the ones that mean absolutely everything. I know I say this a lot, but when I tell you this is my favorite photoshoot I’ve ever done, I truly mean it. Nothing will ever replace this session in my heart.

Every year, I give away a few free photoshoots to the people who have supported Annie Baker Photography the most. This year, I realized I have so many amazing friends supporting my business that I decided to put together a raffle instead. Both of my nephews wanted to enter, but over time I realized I didn’t want them competing for something I already knew I wanted to give them. They’re family, so I gave each of them their own session and saved the raffle for my friends. It ended up being one of the best decisions I could have made.
This session was for my nephew Austin, his incredible girlfriend Jazz, and their sweet baby boy, Niko. Yes, you read that right, I became a great-aunt at just 22 years old! Austin and Jazz are the reason I get to have that title, and getting to document this season of their lives is something I’ll never take for granted.
Their story has been anything but ordinary. It started with Tinder and grew through late-night adventures, a memorable trip to Texas, a serious car accident, and so many life experiences that ultimately brought them to where they are today. Through it all, they’ve continued choosing each other, and now they’re building a beautiful little family together.

One thing I loved from their questionnaire was how simple their favorite moments are. Whether it’s grabbing Dutch Bros, watching movies, playing video games, or having family cuddle time with Niko, they don’t need anything extravagant to be happy. They simply love being together, and that was so obvious throughout their session. Every hug, smile, and quiet moment felt completely natural.
Being able to photograph not only my nephew and his little family but also my own great-nephew made this session more meaningful than I can put into words. These are the kinds of memories that remind me why I fell in love with photography in the first place. Austin, Jazz, and Niko, thank you for letting me capture this chapter of your lives. I love you all so much, and these photos will always hold a special place in my heart.
