You might recognize Haleigh and Cameron around here because this definitely isn’t their first time in front of my camera. I’ve known Haleigh for lots of years now, and at this point, I genuinely think we have done just about every kind of photoshoot you could think of together. She is easily one of my most recurring clients, but somewhere along the way, she also became someone I’m lucky enough to call a friend. There is something so special about having clients who continue trusting you through different seasons of their lives, and I will never stop being grateful for that.

If you’ve been following my work for a while, you might remember their couples session from last year, which started with the cute, put-together photos you would expect and somehow ended with the two of them walking straight into a lake completely dressed in their nice outfits. Honestly, that session explains them so perfectly. They are fun, silly, adventurous, and completely comfortable with each other, which makes them incredibly easy to photograph. Their story actually started long before they ever became a couple, too. Their moms were close friends, so Haleigh and Cameron first met when they were little and essentially grew up alongside one another. I think there is something really special about loving someone who has known so many different versions of you.

Last December, I got to photograph another huge chapter for them when they announced they were expecting their baby boy with a Christmas pregnancy announcement session. Now baby Cody is already four months old, and watching them grow into parenthood together has made documenting this next chapter feel even sweeter. So when Haleigh and Cameron reached out and told me they were getting married next year, there was absolutely no question about whether I wanted to be part of it. Of course I did. Choosing the person to document your wedding day takes a lot of trust, and it means even more when the people trusting you are not just clients, but friends.

For their engagement session, the goal was really just to make the photos feel like them. Haleigh described their relationship as fun, loving, silly, and deeply bonded, and that is exactly what I wanted their gallery to show. They love concerts, going on adventures, trying new things, and spending time at home together with Cody and their cats. They also wanted a mix of playful, laughing photos and the deeper, more romantic ones, so we focused on letting them interact naturally rather than making everything feel overly posed. My biggest goal was to create photos that would still feel authentic to them twenty years from now and remind them exactly who they were during this season of their lives.

Getting to photograph someone once is special, but being invited back again and again for different chapters of their life is something I never take for granted. From couples photos that ended in a lake, to announcing baby Cody, to engagement photos, and soon their wedding day, I feel incredibly blessed that Haleigh and Cameron keep letting me document their story. Now we officially get to start counting down to their wedding in May, and I truly cannot wait to be there for the next chapter.
