Carmen x Angel

Some love stories are worth traveling across the country for, and Carmen and Angel's is definitely one of them! When these two made their way from Atlanta, Georgia, to beautiful Colorado, they had no idea just how unforgettable this trip would become. Behind the scenes, we had been working together to plan the sweetest surprise proposal, making sure everything came together for a moment they would remember forever. Getting to help plan and capture such a special milestone was an absolute dream!

Before their session, I had the chance to learn a little more about Carmen and Angel and what makes their relationship so special. They described themselves as loving, happy, playful, and, my personal favorite, best friends! They love spending time with family and know each other so well that they can practically read each other's minds. When asked what they hoped to remember looking back at their photographs twenty years from now, they shared that they wanted to see just how strong they were together. How sweet is that?! I absolutely loved that answer because the most beautiful love stories are built on friendship, strength, and continuing to choose each other.

On a gorgeous Colorado afternoon at Hudson Gardens in Littleton, surrounded by peaceful water and beautiful fall colors, Angel got down on one knee and asked Carmen to spend forever with him. And, of course, she said YES! Between the excitement, happy smiles, and sweetest embraces, it was one of those moments that reminded me exactly why I love being a photographer. There's something so special about capturing a moment that only happens once, especially when it's the beginning of such an exciting new chapter.

After the proposal, we wandered around the gardens for their very first portraits as an engaged couple, and these two were just the sweetest! There were plenty of laughs, kisses, loving glances, and opportunities to show off Carmen's gorgeous new ring. Their playful personalities and genuine love made the session feel so natural. Some of my favorite photographs are always those little in-between moments when couples forget about the camera and simply enjoy being together, and Carmen and Angel gave me so many of them!

What made this session even more special was the trust that went into bringing everything together. From coordinating details while they were still in Atlanta to finally meeting them here in Colorado, it was such a fun experience to be part of! Someday, these two will look back at their photographs and remember the excitement of their trip, the surprise of the proposal, and the happiness of becoming engaged. That's what makes photography so rewarding: preserving memories that only become more meaningful with time.
